Mr. Groove

Starting in radio back in the early 2000’s DJ Killa Groove made the transition from club jock to unknown radio jock when he got his opportunity to host Valdosta’s 1st live radio mix show Saturday nights on Hot 1027. Now he’s our program director for Valdosta’s voted #1 Urban Adult station Star 1053 where he holds down the afternoon drive with grown folks topics and trending news weekdays 3-7 as Mr. Groove in the Afternoon featuring the Old School Groove Mix at 5. When asked why did he drop “Killa” from his radio moniker, he says he wanted a more mature title to go with the mature music Star 1053 plays but he hasn’t skipped a beat and still keeps it in the groove.
